Automatic inspection of PET bottles.
A project involving two PET bottle inspection workstations has been implemented at a leading beverage manufacturer. Station one checks the presence, position and correctness of the screw cap, as well as the presence and quality of the safety ring. At this station, the level of liquid in the bottle is also checked.
At the second inspection station, the presence, type and position of the label on the bottle is checked using a multi-camera system. An interesting feature is the automatic height adjustment of the station in relation to the selected reference. Both stations are integrated into the production line. They are equipped with a Multifinger ejector, which moves defective bottles onto a reject conveyor without tipping.
The entire system is made IP67 tight and has a capacity of 20,000 bottles per hour.
