EU Project No. 1

MV CENTER VISION SYSTEMS Sp. z o.o. has obtained financial support from the European Regional Development Fund, Operational Programme Intelligent Development 2014-2020, sub-measure 1.1.1 ‘Industrial research and development work carried out by enterprises’ for the implementation of project POIR.01.01.01-00-0366/20-00

‘Compilation of an inspection station designed for precise and automated vision-based quality inspection of ceramic inserts

using new algorithms based on deep networks’.

The subject of the project is the development of an inspection station designed for precise and automated vision-based quality inspection of ceramic inserts dedicated for use in passenger cars - using new algorithms based on deep networks.

The planned effects of the project include:

  • Development of 2D algorithms for inspection of defects in filling cells (open/closed cell) cooperating with the optical system -3-fold increase in the precision of detection of defects of correct cell clogging/opening (in relation to the best competitive solution) with a nearly 2-fold increase in the level of effectiveness.

  • Development of 3D algorithms for inspection of defects of lateral and frontal surfaces of monoliths cooperating with the system of scanners -precision of detection of defects: pow. lateral =0.25 mm2 min. area of detected defect frontal = cell surface + depth even 0.25 mm (efficiency level =98%).

The station shall enable inspection of ceramic inserts:

  • with dimensions of at least. 70 mm * 70 mm * 50 mm and max. 250 mm * 250 mm * 400 mm (the maximum filters that can be produced),

  • regardless of their shape (inspecting not only round parts, but also elliptical, oval, square, irregular, etc.).

The main target groups will be manufacturers of structural components for passenger vehicles, namely:

  • ceramic inserts (catalytic monoliths),

  • exhaust systems using the cartridges for filter production.

EU Project No. 2

‘The goal is to develop an inspection station designed for automated and time-efficient quality inspection of LED/OLED TV matrices’.

The planned effects of the project include:

  • Development of an inspection station designed for automated and time-efficient in-line quality inspection of LED/OLED TV matrices using a new positioning system and algorithms based on deep networks for the detection of mura and bad sub-pixel defects. The subject of the project is the development of an inspection station for automated and time-efficient quality inspection of LED/OLED TV matrices.

Tasks, way of achieving objectives:

  • Development of a camera positioning system relative to the TV matrices and development of algorithms based on deep networks for automated inspection of bad-subpixel defects,

  • Development of algorithms based on deep networks for automated bad-subpixel inspection. The above components, together with the mechanical components, will be integrated into a demonstration station to achieve the following main functionalities (advantages over currently available products):

  • an increase of at least 30 percentage points in the detection efficiency of mura and subpixel defects (relative to the currently most commonly used manual inspection),

  • a three- and six-fold reduction in inspection time for a 22-inch and 85-inch matrix, respectively (compared to the best competitive solution),

  • a 10-fold reduction in system changeover time between different matrix references (compared to the best competitive solution).

No product on the market has the above functionality.

The system will enable detection of the above-mentioned defects for TVs with matrix sizes from 22 to 85 inches (the most common sizes on the market). The main target groups will be manufacturers of LED/OLED TVs.
